Jimmy's Tractor Adventures: A Loyal Co-Pilot's Story

If you happen to be driving through Burlington, Ontario on a sunny afternoon, there's a good chance you'll spot a familiar sight rolling down Waldoncroft Crescent: John operating his tractor, and Jimmy — his devoted canine companion — positioned proudly in the BuddyRider® seat.

"It was quite a long day of work," John shares, chuckling as he looks through several photos. "Apologies for the dirt in some of these shots." Regardless of the dust, the images convey a heartwarming narrative: Jimmy settled confidently in his spot, ears alert, visibly enjoying every second of the journey.

According to John, Jimmy shows no preference. "He enjoys riding in the BuddyRider® whether it's mounted on the bike or the tractor." What began as a sensible approach has transformed into a cherished routine. Since Jimmy's vision has been declining, keeping him securely in the seat proves far more practical than allowing him to roam freely near the tractor. "Having him positioned in the seat is genuinely safer for me compared to him wandering around in the work area."

Currently, John has one dog but maintains two BuddyRider® units — one on his motorcycle at home in Burlington, and another installed on the tractor at the cottage. "I haven't purchased a second receiver yet, though I'm considering it for this summer," he mentions. "It's less critical now, but having one at each location definitely simplifies things."

The local community finds it quite entertaining. "My neighbours get a real kick out of seeing Jimmy travel down the street alongside me on the tractor." It's developed into something of a neighborhood tradition — the industrious Burlington pair making their way through town, one handling the controls and one keeping watch.

John remains enthusiastic about new developments. "Feel free to share details about any improvements you've introduced. Should you develop a new seat option, I'd be delighted to test it with Jimmy on the tractor and provide feedback with photos."

From demanding workdays to weekend getaways, from motorcycles to farm equipment, Jimmy's BuddyRider® journeys have woven themselves into the fabric of daily life in Burlington, Ontario.

And if you ever find yourself in the area and notice a dog traveling by as though he's the proprietor of the pavement — well, now you understand the full picture.

Jimmy represents exactly why we're passionate about our work!

Let's GO! Wouldn't you agree, Jimmy?
