BuddyRider® began with a small but determined Parson's Terrier named Jack, who loved being close to his humans during bike rides. Jack’s owner, Colin Catton, designed a unique pet carrier to safely bring Jack along, leading to the creation of the BuddyRider® Pet Seat. Launched in 2011, the first seat was sold to another dog named Jack in the UK, quickly gaining popularity among pet owners.

In 2020, under new management by Buddy Ventures International Ltd. (BVI), BuddyRider® expanded its global reach. Manufacturing moved to China, warehouses were established in multiple countries, and patents were filed for innovative features like the "Flexarm." With over 100,000 units sold worldwide, BuddyRider® has become a trusted global brand.
