A Lifetime of Rides: Sasha's Story

A Lifetime of Rides: Sasha's Story

Some purchases fade into the background. Others become part of your story.

When Vladimir spotted BuddyRider® on Dragon's Den thirteen years ago, he wasn't deterred by the skeptics in the room. He saw exactly what the product could be — a chance to bring his best friend along on every ride. He ordered one before the episode was over.

Sasha and Vladimir on bikeIt remains one of the best decisions he's ever made. His Bichon Frise, Sasha, was barely two months old when the seat arrived. Vladimir had no idea whether she'd take to cycling, but she settled in from the very first outing — calm, curious, and completely at home on the bike.

The ride that stands out most is their first one together along Toronto's Lakeshore, the same day the BuddyRider® arrived. The photos from that afternoon are a time capsule. Sasha was so small it's almost hard to recognize her.

Thirteen years on, she still can't wait to go.

Sasha is a senior dog now, but cycling season still brings out the puppy in her. The routine is the same every spring: Vladimir retrieves the bike, reaches for the carrier, and Sasha is already there — alert, tail going, ready before he is. Just recently, she nearly climbed onto the seat herself while he was still getting set up.

That kind of enthusiasm is contagious. It also prompted Vladimir to check in on BuddyRider® after all this time. He was glad to find the company thriving — a far cry from the doubt it faced on Dragon's Den in the early days.

Sasha and PumpkinThe BuddyRider® turned out to be about more than convenience. Over the years, it changed the texture of Vladimir and Sasha's life together. Parks, waterfront paths, wooded trails — she was always with him, never waiting at home. Those shared miles added up to something neither of them could have planned.

It's worth remembering that the whole idea started with Colin and his dog Jack, whose bond proved that dogs and bikes belong together. That spirit has clearly carried forward.

Vladimir puts it simply: BuddyRider® has been part of some of his happiest memories with Sasha. She's older now, and so is he — but the moment his hand touches the bike, her tail starts moving and the years fall away. Some adventures really don't lose their magic.

Stories like theirs are a reminder that a great product doesn't just solve a problem. It becomes part of a family's rhythm, their traditions, and the moments they'll always look back on.

Vladimir and Sasha — thank you for thirteen years of rides, tail wags, and memories. Knowing BuddyRider® has been woven into your journey means everything. We love having a front-row seat to it all.

Let's go, Sasha! 🐾
